Meet Allison Williamson

Fair. Firm. Family Focused.

Allison Williamson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She minored in African Studies. While residing in Schweinfurt Germany, she received her Master of Science in Criminal Justice. She volunteered at the JAG office while she was in Germany helping process Article 13s. When she moved to Kansas in 2006, she started working at Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex as a Correctional Officer until she received notice that she was accepted into Washburn University School of Law for the fall 2007 year. Allison attended law school in the Winter and Summer in order to graduate a semester early and graduated in December 2009 with a Family Law Certificate. While at Washburn, Allison was a member of the Hispanic, Asian, Black, and Native American Law Associations. She was acting President in BLSA. Allison was also a member of the Trial Team, traveling to Chicago and Seattle representing the law school at trial team competitions. During law school, she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in the Child in Need of Care Court.


Allison opened her own general practice law office specializing in Family Law. She had the opportunity to share office space with a local attorney who had a contract to handle Child in Need of Care and Juvenile cases and became her back up attorney, representing parents who were in the Child in Need of Care Court trying to get their children returned to them.


Allison then became an Assistant Public Defender in the State of Kansas and practiced in Salina, Abilene, and Junction City before becoming an Assistant Federal Defender in Missouri. After leaving the Federal Defender's office in 2019, she accepted a job as an Assistant District Attorney in Wyandotte County Kansas. Within 6 months, she was assigned to the Child in Need of Care unit. She was promoted to Assistant District Attorney III and became the Truancy attorney as well, visiting the schools and talking to students and parents for their weekly Truancy Diversion sessions. Not only did she handle CINC cases, she also covered cases in Behavioral Court, Drug Court, Traffic, Criminal and was co counsel on a week long Rape trial.


Currently she is an Assistant Attorney General in the Sexually Violent Predator Unit where she monitors Sexually Violent Predators to see if they are safe to be released after undergoing treatment at an intensive Sex Offender Treatment Program at Larned State Hospital.


Allison was a volunteer with the Missouri CASA program as a Guardian Ad Litem, representing the best interests of Children and representing parents who are diagnosed with a mental disorder. Currently she volunteers with Harvesters, Lead to Read KC, Student Law Academy, and with Local Debate/Mock Trial Competitions. She is a member of the Jackson County Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Wyandotte Bar Association, volunteering with these organizations in various initiatives. She is a member of the Earl E. O'Connor Inn of Court. She is also the Great Plains Regional Director of the National Black Prosecutors Association. Allison is a member of Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is heavily involved with her church in the Choir and the Women's Missionary Union. She is happily married to a retired Army Vet and they share 6 children, 4 of which are currently in college.
